Reflections on Blogging

I'm not sure if I like blogging, because I guess, it's kind of hard to think of exactly what I want to say.  I mean blogging isn't bad, it's still kind of boring, so I probably won't start another one.  I mean, hey if you like doing and make money - go for it, that's all you - it's just not my cup of tea.  Maybe I would if I found a topic that I was reaaalllyyy into and wanted to write and talk about all the time.  Although, I like reading others blogs and seeing what their opinion on the topic was, I think that's nice.

Memorial Day

During my Memorial Day, I basically stayed at home and didn't really do anything.  So, no offense to the soldiers fighting to save our country.   I fully support them, and wish they could come home, but I didn't do anything to prove this.  Did you know the first Memorial Day was celebrated on May 30, 1868?  True fact, it was actually called Decoration Day.  People place flags or flowers to remember those who have died fighting for the U.S.  I think it's a good idea, keeping their memory alive.

National Month For...?

I think some people set up months to celebrate unusual things just because they are bored, or think maybe something needs to be honored.  Like my teacher said, May is the month for "Smiles", someone somewhere probably thought we needed to honor smiles.  Some people might celebrate it, just to be "connected with the world."  Some of the things we celebrate in May are Cinco De Mayo, Mother's Day, and May Day.  For the month of May I guess I wouldn't really like to celebrate anything other than Mother's Day, personally I think my mom deserves a day to relax.  I think we should celebrate the idea by just letting mothers have a day to relax, but that's just me.

Violence T.V.

Image result for game of thronesPersonally, I don't watch much T.V.; so I'm not exactly sure how much violence there actually is.  It depends on what your idea of violence actually is, if hunting shows to killing zombies - it's all a matter of opinion.  I mean, today basically all T.V. shows have some sort of violence in them, like The Walking Dead - everyone is basically killing a bunch zombies, or Game of Thrones because of how graphic they can get.  Often in Game of Thrones it's because of the fighting scenes, and they often show people getting their heads cut off or arrows fly everywhere, and let's not forget the blood.

Cinco De Mayo

Cinco de Mayo, the fifth of may is the day to celebrate the Battle of Puebla, why?  Probably to honor all the fallen warriors that fell trying to save their people.  The people who mostly celebrate this is the Mexican population, they often eat a lot of food, make a few "drinks", throw a few decorations around and ta da - a Cinco de Mayo party.  I'm not sure myself though if I'd want it to become a national holiday. I admit I like Mexican food, but I feel as though we just have to many holidays, but that's just me.

Prom!!!

I guess, I'm pretty excited about Prom, it's my first year and I get to goooooooooo with Durand, so this should be really interesting.  I think personally, it's very important to go to Prom, your senior year, because you won't get to see the people you go with ever again, but that's me.  To be also honest, I have no idea what After Prom is, but I'll probably be so tired, that I won't even care.

But the idea of Prom is over dramatic, like it's a dance... woohoo yay - big whoop.  I guess, it's just the idea you get to impress someone, but you can do that everyday - so I'm not really sure, right now I'm just going with it.

Earth Day

To me, Earth Day is basically celebrating how the Earth is "alive" and staying clean.  To try and keep the Earth clean, my family and I often recycle old newspapers, recycle water bottles.  Although, Earth Day is a very big and celebrated holiday, I myself, have never participated in any Earth Day celebrations.

I was doing, a little research on Earth Day, and I found out that 1) Earth Day was celebrated for the first time in 1970?  Which was about 45 years ago, pretty cool right?
Did you also know that countries all over the world celebrate this day?  It's true!  People often and try and "Go Green" by recycling, car pooling, or just walking.  It's pretty "Green" if you ask me.  Another thing that I found out was how people try to keep the "Earth Clean", for instance, they carpool or walk.

Spring Break

Well, this past week I have been on Spring Break.  Woo hoo right?  Nahhh, honestly all Spring Break, I've done nothing but clean and sleep.  Well, wait, a few days ago I went clothes shopping.  Not for anything special of course, just trying on random dresses and shirts.  Not really exciting?  What I thought was exciting was the fact after we finished clothes shopping, and got some food, (Magic Wok too be exact, isn't wasn't that good either), we went to the bookstore.  That was fantastic, I saw so many books waiting to read, so much music waiting to be listened too, so many movies waiting to be watched.  I was in heaven, I could practically hear my heartbeat, beating with excitement.   What about you?  What'd you do for Spring Break?

Pencil Day!!

According to http://pencils.com/why-are-pencils-yellow/, the pencil has been yellow since 1890s, although the Chinese and Americans used graphite to make the pencils.

Personally, I honestly don't like wooden pencils, because they constantly break, while pens and mechanical pencils don't.  I prefer pens, because the ink doesn't actually disappear, or get smudged.  I try not to be a pencil doodler, but I often get bored, so eventually I do end up doodling.  I kind of think we will use pencils, because it'll remind of the old age, and also the yellow pencils are longer and easier to use, (depending on who you are.)

Open Topic

She waited patiently as the train came to a stop, the men excited quickly and swiftly.  Where is he? she asked herself, trying to calm the butterflies in her stomach.  She walked towards the doors, after couples were reunited, ducking fathers hugging their children.  She couldn't find him, her hero.  She felt her heart breaking, she held the tears in as she turned to leave, not wanting to see anymore.  As she tilted her head down, she bumped into someone, "Excuse me," she whispered, looking up.  She gasped as a smile formed on her lips, she wrapped her arms around his neck; her hero was home and safe.  He chuckled against her neck, "It's alright, I'm not leaving you again," he whispered.

Potrait Photography

To get a good shot, I honestly think it all depends on the model/ whatever you take a photo of.  To create a "perfect" photo you need an environment where you can have enough light for your model, a model that is willing to sit still, an environment where the model is comfortable and actually describes the model.  To create a photo, you just want to make sure that everything is the way your customer or whoever you are taking a photo of is happy.  Also, try taking more than one photo at a time, just in case you mess up.

Cheaters Never Win!!!

If I saw a friend cheating I would... I'm not sure what exactly I would do.  I might say something depending on what it was and how important the paper/assiments was.  If they did the cheating frequently I would deffinatly something.  So, honeslty I don't really know what I would do, like I said, I would probably stay quiet.   Unless of course it was like a major test or an application into college.

INSECT

If I was an insect, I would be a beautiful butterfly.  Why?  Because I flutter from conversation to conversation.  And because, I am very fly around, I just "fly" from person to person.  I don't think I'm as beautiful as a butterfly, but I often try to be, I'm still transitioning between a fat caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly.  So whoo-hoo. What kind of insect would you be?

Open Topic - Lacey Part 2

After shopping for what seemed like hours, Lacey walked out of the store.  He's got to love this, she said to herself.  Stepping into the parking lot, Lacey walked toward her car.  Suddenly a loud screeching noise was heard.  Lacey kept walking but turned her head slightly, a giant white van came out of no where, heading toward her at blazing speed.  Lacey ran and hid behind the nearest car, as the white van passed, smoke coming off of the tires.   Not again, she thought shaking her head.

Testing! Testing! Testing!

Honestly, I hate testing, it makes me so nervous.  Because I don't want to fail, and it's so much pressure because all the testing turns onto our grades and it's awful.  If there weren't any tests to be taken then maybe they could have you write a paper on it, or like Mr. Frasel does and has you do assessments.  Testing is just a very bad thing all in general.

I don't like the way Michigan judges schools by their testing scores, it's like "Wow lets fail everyone so we get more money! MWAHAHAHA!" Why can't you compare them by their athletic scores or talking in front of people or how they don't get in trouble.  I'd rather that then so many hard tests.  I don't think there can ever be a "fair" test, because everyone tests a different way, everyone has different test taking skill, (mine are studying a lot, and saying them out loud to my mom as she cooks - works for me!).

I think I'm one of those kids who "just don't do well on tests," why?  Because when I sit down to take a test, I instantly forget everything.  My mind is blank, I can't remember.  I panic and freeze, but the funny part, you ask me the questions that are on the test - I can tell you all the answers - it's weird.

4 Important Things

Four things that are important to me are: my friends/family, food, book and music.  These things all are important to me and just make my life, interesting.

1.  My friends/ family because their are always there for me, they just listen to me when I need a shoulder to cry on, they make me laugh, they make my life a little brighter.

2. Food because who doesn't love food?  Without food we would all die, so technically food is amazing and just yum!!

3. My books because when my friends or family can't help me calm down, books are they my friends.  They take me away to places I know I can never visit, their the voices that calm me down when I'm crying or scared.  A book will never talk back, it always lends a warm hug.

4. Last but not least, my music, music to me is like my books, an open hug.  Music is always there in my good moods, my bad moods - it helps me remain calm and fixes everything.  It helps me sleep, it helps me get ready for the day.  Music is just very important.

Presidents

I believe that J.F.K has had the greatest impact on our nation.  He sat here and actually cared about the people.  He worked hard to create a nation where everything ran smoothly.  Which must be very difficult because he (the president) has to take care of a bunch of people who act like children.  I personally would NOT run for President, I would go insane and just tell everyone what to do - everything would be done my way no highway option!

Extra Money

If I had an extra $100,000 to give away I would give some of the money to my best friend so she could move out of the home she is living in now.  I would also give some of the money to my mom so she can 1) buy a car and 2) go back to school to finish her degree.  I would give some to my Mom's parents so they can move out here to the country.  I pay of the bills for my sisters prosthetic foot.  I give also share some money with the children in Africa or orphans who don't have anything at all.

I want out of here!

Right now this very minute - I would love to be at the beach.  Beaches are warm, they are relaxing.  I honestly need to relax, everything is just so stressing.  I would love to just curl up with a long, enjoy book and relax in the sun.  I haven't been to many beaches my life, so I think it would be enjoyable.  Probably when I turn 18, I'll go myself.

Final Exam

After graduating from Sand Creek, I think I will use Google Drive a lot.  I am planning on going to writing classes, or honestly more English classes.  Google Drive will make it easier for me to send my writings to my classmates, so they can edit and help me with what I am trying to write.  I will use Google Drive if I have a certain question on my wording when I write, for example if I try to say something along the lines of "the cat can jump," and I need someone else's opinion on what word I could use instead of "Jump," this would come in handy.  Three ways I can use this tool is 1) sharing my work to other classmates or co-workers, depending on where I am at in my life.  2) If my classmate is online, we can edit it together, incase either of us have any questions on what we are doing.  3) I can share my document with my teacher, for instance if we are on Spring Break, and I have a question about the homework he or she have given us, I can share it with him/her and ask her myself, instead of waiting.  I can have the document right in front of us.  I chose this tool because it seems like an easy way to share my work and to work along with someone, rather than emailing the document and waiting forever for someone to answer me.  Google Drive is a site where you can share your documents and work with other people, as I have explained throughout my paragraph.

The tool I don't think I will be using again is Wikis, why you may ask.  A Wiki is of course very education, but sometimes they have false information.  If I'm writing a paper, I need facts, not ifs and maybes, no I need the real deal.  Because anyone can go in and change a Wiki if they wanted too, I would not feel very trust worthy by using this site.  It would make me feel unsure of myself.  I honestly believe that I will never ever use a Wiki again for that reason.

Vacation Time!

Over Christmas break, I really didn't do anything worthwhile.  On Christmas, my family came over, and we celebrated... mostly we all just sat around and did nothing.  My cousins and uncle pretty much talked about hunting and how to cut deer the right way, I left the room when they started getting into detail.    So, Christmas wasn't all that fancy and a bag of chips.  For Christmas, I got a medium sized Olaf, (his legs are really small though), I also got a bunch of movies - Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit, The Fault in Our Stars.  So, I was pretty happy.  Hope everyone's Christmas and New Year was better than mine!
